Ice Storm 2009

These pictures were taken outside my parents house in Arkansas. We have over a half inch of ice, expecting more today, and up to 3 inches of snow. Good timing on taking a trip up here, huh?

Lake Guntersville

On Saturday, we decided to have a picnic lunch at Guntersville State Park and go fishing. It wasn't a pretty day but we had a really good time! Brock and M.E. caught their first fish! They were really excited!

Wings

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law came up to our house for new year's. We started this tradition when we moved away from Mont. We always have so much fun together! We always go and eat at Wings in Huntsville. We went up there on Friday before the big Alabama game which turned into a BIG disappointment! Anyway, here are a few pictures.

We had a really fun Christmas in Arkansas! We're headed back to Alabama tomorrow(Wed.). We have company coming to our house for New Year's. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law. I'm really excited!! We always have so much fun with them!

We surprised the kids with an early Christmas present......and they love it!!

Brock was at school....that's why he's not in the picture. I think I'm doing individual pics this year. It's a lot easier to get one to smile at a time verses three!

This and that.....

I wanted to thank all of you for your thoughtful comments and prayers! Our family had a rough Thanksgiving! We had van trouble on the drive up to Arkansas. It was our transmission. So, we left our van in Decatur and drove a rent-a-car the rest of the trip(and might I add, we were packed in the little Dodge Journey). We were really lucky to even get that! While we were in the middle of loading all our luggage to our rent-a-car, I got the call about my grandpa. While in Arkansas, all three kids got the stomach virus and the day we returned home, Mitchell got it. We're hoping for a GREAT Christmas. Again, thank you for your prayers! This event has taught me never to take for granted the time you have with loved ones!!

A Sudden Loss.....

My grandpa passed away on Tuesday. We were on our way to Arkansas for Thanksgiving when I got the call. It was very sudden and the doctors seem to think it was congestive heart failure. He was 89 years old. Please keep my family in your prayers. This was my dad's dad.
This picture was taken last Christmas. I'm glad I've got it!

I'm thankful for all the memories I have with him and that he was a Christian.

New Project....

Below is a new project mom and I worked on while I was here. I thought it turned out very cute for our first time to ever make something like this. It only cost us $4.00 (shirt included)!!....that's what really excites me!!
