Guess what......WE'VE GOT SNOW!!!!

We're still in Arkansas and we have SNOW!! About 2 1/2 to 3 inches!! We're supposed to get more(let's hope the weather man is right). They say all together we should have between 6 and 10 inches! When we came up here, we had no idea it was gonna snow....but I'm sure glad it did! The kids have been playing in it and I'll post those pictures later. I've posted a few pictures below.
This one is of my parents' front yard. It had only been snowing about an hour.

We had a crazy idea to get out in the snow and take a trip to Wal-Mart. We also wanted to see how pretty everything was with the beautiful snowflakes falling and the ground covered. Well, we got to the highway and saw how bad the roads were and were stopped in our tracks. But, I got out and took some pictures. This one is of some trees in a neighbors backyard. The picture DOES NOT do it justice!

Here's what the roads looked like about an hour and 20 minutes in to it.

There's our van with mom and dad up front. We turned around and went back to the house.

By the way, the date on my camera is wrong, just in case any of you faithful blog readers took notice. Ha
Stay tuned....More to come.....

Still Gone....

We are still in Arkansas. My grandpa is doing okay but still needs help around the clock. The doctor is looking for an assisted living facility or rehabilitation center for him to go to for a while. We are hoping for that to happen sometime today. My dad spent the night with him last night and had to take off work today. The kids' are missing Paw-Paw.
My brother, his wife, and kids came over last night. We had a really good time! The kids always LOVE playing together. They are all about the same age....which makes is great! Kade will turn 3 in Feb. and Zoe will be 6 months in Feb. I wish I would have taken some pictures but I was too busy running my mouth....imagine that!
Here are some pictures of our trip so far.....
Below is a picture of my dad and his birthday cake. My mom made it and Mary Elizabeth thought it needed sprinkles. I'm not gonna tell his age but he sure doesn't look like he's 61.....oops!! Ha

We're Gone...

Just wanted to let everyone know we are in Arkansas right now. We came up here for my dad's birthday (27th). We left last Thurs. We will return this weekend. An unfortunate accident happened while we've been here. My 87 year old grandpa had a car wreck this past Friday. He was really banged up and had a punctured lung. We spent a few hours at the emergency room Friday night. He's still in the hospital and will possibly get out tomorrow (Tues.) or the next day. Please be praying that he will have a full and speedy recovery.

WE GOT SNOW!!!!!

It snowed here on Wednesday and we couldn't have been more excited!! It was a very pretty snow! There were some HUGE flakes! It snowed for about 2 or 3 hours. The kids got to play in it and wanted to eat some.....so I let them! I ate snow when I was a little girl and I turned out okay, so I didn't feel like it would hurt them. Anyway, it was a really nice surprise!! Our weatherman is calling for some more snow starting early in the morning(Sat.) and lasting until the afternoon. They say we could get about 2 inches! How exciting!! I'll keep you posted!

Fun in the Cold and Sun!!

The kids enjoyed a fun day playing outside. It was a little on the chilly side, but it didn't seem to bother them too much. I thought I would take advantage of the clear, beautiful day and snap a few pics. Braxton got left out this time, he was snoozin'. Mitchell stayed outside with them while working on his Bible lesson for tomorrow. He will start teaching the teen class in the morning. You know I'll have to sit in there just to "assist." HaHa (for those of you who don't know me well, I have to be in the middle of everything and maybe a little nosey....at times! But, aren't we all??) Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!
This is Brock's new way of posing for pictures! He's so silly!

Our Big Moose....

I took Braxton to his 9 month check-up today. Actually, it could have been a 10 month. I wasn't able to take him to the doctor in Dec. because of the holiday's. He weighed 23 lbs. and was 31.5 inches long. Can you believe that?? The doctor said everything looked great! He didn't have to get shots today but he did have to get the 2nd dose of the flu shot. I really hope he doesn't get sick or run a high fever. I gave him some tylenol right after the shot, so maybe that will help. In case you're wondering about the title, that's what our preacher's wife calls Braxton. She helps out in his Wednesday night Bible class and loves to call him Moose. I think it's kinda cute!
Braxton getting the leftovers of Brock's empty yogurt container.

He LOVES to be outside!! He really enjoys watching the other two play!

Happy 9 months baby!

Cute jewelry & The Sparkley Dress....

I've been meaning to blog about this cute jewelry for a while now, but haven't made the time. When we had the Mother's Club Bizzare, there were all kinds of cute-see(is that a word?) booths there but one of them caught my eye. This woman and her husband make all their jewelry. I found a cute necklace that I love and whenever I wear it, I ALWAYS get compliments on it and everyone wants to know where I got it. So, I thought I would share it with you and give you their website. It's www.artjewelz.com The jewelry is very reasonable!! I paid $20 for this necklace.
There are lots of other styles to choose from. Check it out!

And now for the sparkley dress.....Sissy has been wearing this dress over her clothes and pj's for the past few days. She wanted to wear it to bed last night and I had to put my foot down and say enough! Her Aunt Valla got it for her last Christmas, but here lately that's what she wants to play with. Go figure??!

Family and Wedding Pictures

Here are some more pictures of our holiday and of the wedding. I just love the picture of Mitchell and Michael (his brother). Can you see the resemblance?? HaHa

The kids after shooting off fireworks. It was really cold!! Sorry for the mess in the background.

Martha and her honorary bridesmaids. Doesn't she look BEAUTIFUL??!!

I hope your holiday season was as blessed as ours and I wish many blessings and joy to you all for the new year!

More Holiday Pictures

Christmas

We had a very, busy Christmas this year. First, we went to Montgomery for a few days to spend an early Christmas with Mitchell's family. Then we came back home on the 23rd and spent Christmas eve and morning here (Arab). We left for Arkansas around lunch time on Christmas morning. We had a really good time! We visited family and ate A LOT!! We came back to Arab on the 30th because Michael and Valla (my brother-in-law and sister-in-law) were coming to our house for New Year's Eve. We had a lot of fun with them!! We shot off a lot of fireworks and the kids played with sparklers. After they left, we had a couple of days to relax at home then it was off again! We left on Friday (4th) headed to Fayette, Al, for my cousins wedding (Martha Gordon). She got married on Saturday and we returned home Sunday afternoon. We were exhausted! The wedding was BEAUTIFUL, BTW.
So, after a BUSY holiday season, I'm glad things are getting back to normal!
